When you think of cancer, you might think of radiation and chemotherapy. But the fight against cancer is a wider battlefield involving Prevention, Survivorship, and Research. That is where the Moncrief Cancer Institute mission begins.
Mission
To further the humanitarian mission of Moncrief Cancer Institute, we will be a leader in our community’s efforts to fight cancer and reduce its burden throughout the continuum of care utilizing:
- Public Education and Community Awareness
- Cancer Prevention and Early Detection
- Behavioral and Nutritional Sciences
- Genetic Counseling and Risk Assessment
- Cancer Survivorship with Fitness Program
Company Overview
While we began as a radiation center more than 50 years ago, Moncrief left radiation services in 2006 and moved in a new direction. We are affiliated with UT Southwestern’s Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in North Texas. After opening a 60,000 square foot facility in the Fort Worth Medical District in 2012, we are now expanding to bring you cutting-edge clinical trials and new treatments. Our facility features a fitness area free for all cancer survivors, genetic testing and risk assessment, psychological counseling, free nutrition classes, and breast screening and pap tests for uninsured women.
